Why families pick West Valley

WVC has the most affordable single-family housing stock among the larger cities in our service area, which translates into homes with more bedrooms, larger lots, and more parking. Several of our staff already live in WVC, which helps with shift coverage and continuity. The cultural and linguistic communities here are themselves a reason: residents whose first language is not English, or whose family rhythms are tied to a particular cultural community, often do better when the home is in or near where their community already lives.

Neighborhoods that work for us

  • Granger — established residential, walkable to grocery and parks.
  • Hunter — quiet residential streets with backyards.
  • Redwood — close to TRAX Green Line and to medical clinics.
  • Chesterfield / Lake Park — newer construction, larger lots, often closer to family homes for residents whose families live in the south part of the city.

What is nearby

  • Medical: Pioneer Valley Hospital, Intermountain Riverton Hospital (short drive south), multiple community clinics
  • Transit: TRAX Green Line connects WVC to downtown SLC and to the airport; bus coverage on 3500 South, 4100 South, and Redwood Road
  • Recreation: Centennial Park, Hunter Park, the Jordan River Parkway, Maverik Center for events
  • Cultural: the Cultural Celebration Center, multiple community-rooted markets and houses of worship

A note on language

Our Spanish-language site is in development. If your family speaks Spanish, Tongan, Samoan, Vietnamese, or another language at home, please tell us during intake. We will arrange interpretation for the intake conversation, and we will look at staffing the home with a person who speaks the language whenever it is possible. If we cannot match for the language at the home level, we will be honest about that, and we will tell you which other Utah providers we know are doing this well.

Tell us about your person.
