What people actually do during the day.

·

Daily living skills

Cooking, money handling, scheduling, communication, problem-solving. Practical, repeated, real.

·

Community access

Trips into Salt Lake County: parks, libraries, museums, groceries, community events. Real places, on a real schedule.

·

Supported employment

Job exploration, vocational assessment, supported job placement, on-the-job coaching. Coordinated with Utah Vocational Rehabilitation when relevant.

·

Art and music

Studio time, instruments, group sessions. Skill development for participants who want it; recreation for those who do not.

·

Movement and fitness

Walking groups, adaptive yoga, gym time when appropriate. Documented and progressed slowly.

·

Friendship

The point of going somewhere on Tuesday is partly to see your friends from last Tuesday. We design for it.

Aspen residents and community members alike.

The day program serves adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities who live in Aspen supportive-living homes and adults who live elsewhere (with family, in independent settings, with another residential provider) who need structured weekday support.

Participation is full-day or partial-day. Standard hours are 9:00 to 14:00. Transportation is included for Aspen residents and is available as an add-on for community participants in Salt Lake County.

How funding works

Day program is a Medicaid HCBS waiver service in Utah. Most Community Supports Waiver authorizations include day-program hours. Where waiver coverage is in place, the waiver pays. We accept private-pay community participants at published rates and tell you the dollar amount before any agreement.
